This switch is giving us 1 GB speed for our additional PCs in the house. Great product. We use it with a Netgear 802.11n Gigabit Router.
Just plug and play. You will be able to tell the difference when using 100 or 1000.
(Cables have been checked, power quality is good). This switch worked perfectly for several months. Now it periodically stops recognizing one or all of the network drives it switches. When it works, speed is good. I will replace it with a reliable D-Link switch.
This 5 port Netgear switch was the easiest installation I have ever had. Basically, plug in the cable from the broadband modem/router and you have 4 ports for expanding the network. I have 3 computers and a network printer running off of this switch.
The switch operates as specified and has solved the problem of too many devices and not enough ports.
