What Customers Say About Netgear GS605NA Giga Switch 5Port:

I bought a pair of these three years ago and they both worked flawlessly until about three days ago. Once it was clear that one of the units was dying, I touched base with Netgear to see about a replacement. And they essentially told me to piss off since it's out of warranty. So now I have to spend at least $40 for a new unit to get my network back up and running. Obviously, I'll be spending the extra $10 and doing what I should have done in the first place - BUYING THE LINKSYS VERSION.Only buy this product if you don't mind your purchase having a built-in expiration date.

I've had this switch two years.Pro's: No noise, no issues, price.Cons: None for a switch in this price range

This switch has a lifetime warranty. Excellent performance. My network "jitter" went from 38ms down to 2ms with this switch.

I have devices that use both speeds plugged in and the switch recognizes the networking capabilities of each device and provides the appropriate throughput. I have had no problems with either device. I purchased both the Netgear giga switch 5 port and 8 port switches for use in my home about 6 months ago. I think the style of these switches is good, compared to other brands. I noticed another customer reported that the switch would not provide gigabit performance with his/her Mac Mini. I have had no such problems-- this switch is able to handle both 100mb/s and gigabit speeds with no issues. I have one that sits in my media center cabinet and it is stylish enough to not stand out (if you care about such things.). All in all, this does what it advertises, which is all you really want for something like this.

works seamlessly with my airport extreme dual.speeds are exactly the same with or without itI'm getting full gigabit speedsaverage to windows 7 pc is 115 MB/s that's 920 Mbits/sHIGHLY RECOMMEND. be careful. very small ( it looks like a mini router )it's a perfect switch. Great Design. you're never going to get faster than 10 MB/sG/L i hope i saved some people money. they say 550mhz ect ect.

alot of cat6, cat6a and even cat7 cables are running 27awg gage copper.

also $10 dollar mail in rebate.IMPORTANT.

running at cat7 speeds 10 Gbits) Last note is.

vertical or horizontal mounting.

recently I recived some cat7 cables that were almost half the diameter of my cat6 rated monster advanced (which are the only cables that are under rated, they are the only cables I've purchased that perform faster than their marked ratings.

To get gigabit speeds most overlooked items are "CABLES" I invested into highest rated cables that are also all shielded and running a minuim of 24awgx4 (24gage wire times 4) which is great than just 24awg makes a huge difference.

I also have 23awgx4 (cat7 rated) cables which are actually faster but 10 MB/s Minimum rating i would go with is cat6 but look close.

if your wifi/router and or Ethernet card is only 100mbit.

I've recently wasted over 80 dollars in Ethernet cables until i found ones that actually are gigabit worthy.one common aspect was they were all Shielded.
